in vitro JNJ0966 inhibits the conversion of proMMP-9 to active MMP-9 but is not a direct inhibitor of MMP-9 or MMP-3 enzymatic activity. This compound inhibits proMMP-9 maturation.
in vivo Oral administration of JNJ0966 significantly diminishes the clinical disease score observed in the mouse EAE model.
